KAL Case: Funds Needed!

July 31, 2006

KAL Initiative Funds Needed!

Fundraising events and donations are crucial to the KAL Case: Expert witness costs and administrative outlays are being paid by the proceeds of fundraisers and by the generous donations of supporters. Without this support, the KAL Case would be badly undermined.

To that end, fundraising events are very important to us. In addition, particularly for those who may not be in a postition to attend fundraisers, donations may be made to the KAL PayPal account or directly to the KAL fundraising bank account.

Keep watch here and on the KAL Case website for info relating to fundraiser events!

AT 11 O’CLOCK

FOR MENTION
51 ZAPPONE & ANOR -V- REVENUE COMMISSIONERS & ORS

The case appeared before the court briefly this morning, for the follow-up “For Mention” hearing.

At around 12.45am, Ms Bacik spoke for the applicants; Mr Douglas was present for the State.

Ms Bacik mentioned that replies for particulars have been drafted, and that the State’s legal team has seen this draft. It was reiterated that discovery of documents had been sought; in relation to this, the judge agreed that the date for mention would be put back by one week.

Ms Bacik also informed the court that the applicants were ready to go for the full hearing of the case on the 3rd October: 3 weeks has been set for the case to be heard, and eleven witnesses are lined up for the applicants.

Ms Bacik indicated to the court that all seemed to be in order, save for a matter relating to sending a letter for discovery. She sought adjournment for three weeks to allow this letter to be sent. Mr Clarke was in agreement.

Mr Justice Donovan granted the adjournment until 24th July 2006.
